This is a just a “checking-in” post, letting folks know what’s happening aroundYe Olde Serial Distractions Bicycle Repair Shoppe and Turnip Emporium™.
I currently have three stories in the ECR* train. One is a new horror tale and the others are older sci-fi pieces that have yet to find a home. I have another piece, an urban fantasy, that I submitted last year for an anthology that I haven’t heard back on–apparently the editor/publisher has had some health issues and publication is delayed. Hopefully I’ll get some good news on that front soon.
Writing-wise, mostly I’ve been working on some private, not-for-publication stuff that I’m writing for my friends. It is essentially a campaign epilogue for my RPG group. Nothing that anyone outside our circle would be interested in but keeps my hand in the writing groove. I’ve just received some new review material from Shroud, so that’s pretty exciting as well.
I’ve also launched my Master of the Game project. It’s gotten off to a fairly slow start but I’m hoping to pick up some participation soon. If you’re a game master (or know any game masters), feel free to stop by and check it out.
I’m also working behind-the-scenes with another group of writers on a new speculative fiction association (SASS: The Society for the Advancement of Speculative Storytelling). Its focus is new writers, aspiring writers, and writers that have a day job. It’s pretty exciting to be on the ground floor of something new in the field–especially as I haven’t really broken in yet. It’s a great group of folks and I’m looking forward to seeing where we can take it
At any rate, I’m still alive, still working, and still writing. I guess that’s all I can ask for at this point.
