So, today I joined the e-book revolution and purchased a Nook. I had some birthday gift-cards burning holes in my pocket and decided I could put them toward purchasing something I’ve had my eye one for some time.
I didn’t get the fancy one, just the low-frills, black-and-white Simple Touch model. But, so far I’m digging it. I purchased a bundle of Gail Carriger‘s “Parasol Protectorate” novels and started in on the first one with nary a bump in the road.
Some folks have asked why I didn’t go with the Kindle. Though I am still an Amazon customer when it comes to hard copies and movies, they frequently annoy me with the way they handle e-books. They purposefully make them seriously difficult to lend (either via library or customer-to-customer). Plus throw in the whole #amazonfail debacle and I just have a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to the Kindle. So, the Nook it is for me.
And because I can’t resist a good pun (or a bad one, for that matter) nor an act of anthropomorphism of inanimate objects, I’ve decided to name him Peter.
