Master of My Domain

FYI: I have purchased the domain “serialdistractions.com” in order to make my site a little easier to find these days.  I know a lot of people forget about the “.wordpress.com” part, so hopefully this will make everyone’s life easier.

You can also make your life way easier by subscribing to my blog and have me sent directly to your email address!  Just look to the right-hand side of the screen under “Email Subscription” and follow the easy instructions.

I’ve been torn about purchasing a new domain for a while now.  The other question that plagues me is whether or not I should use my name as my domain.  A lot of advice given to aspiring writers indicates that this is the best way to market yourself.  The problem is that I have a very long name.  While “serialdistractions.com” isn’t exactly short, it is still shorter than “shedrickpittman-hassett.com” and is probably easier to remember.  So, for now, this will do.  As usual, I’m certainly welcome to suggestions and discussion.

So, once again, you can now get here at http://serialdistractions.com.  Don’t worry…any old links at serialdistractions.wordpress.com will still work.  And any previous subscriptions are still in effect.

Thanks!

About Shedrick

I am a professional librarian and a part-time writer that's working to do that the other way around. I currently live in North Texas in the lovely city of Denton (“The Home of Happiness“) with my lovely wife and the obligatory demon-spawn cats. When not writing, gaming, or watching cheezy kung-fu flicks, I can sometimes be found in a pub (or the American equivalent) enjoying a fine brew.
