ConDFW Report Part I: Better late, etc.

In February of this year I attended a really good sci-fi con in Dallas, ConDFW.  I didn’t really know what to expect as I had never attended before.  I’ve primarily gone to AnimeFest, A-Kon, and other comic-based cons.  I primarily came for the chance to meet Jim Butcher and Steven Brust

I was very pleasantly surprised by the con.  It seemed to be primarily aimed at writers, wannabe-writers (like me), and literary-type folks.  Plus, there was a lot of steampunk schtuff as well.  I came away not only with an autograph or two but some really good insights on publishing and on writing.

I realize that this report is a bit…tardy.  However, the information has no freshness date.

I’m going to post this in several parts, one blog for each session I attended.  Another note: If you attended the same con and want to add to or correct my notes, please feel free.  I’d love to have the commentary.  I’ve tried to attribute “who said what” as best as I can, but my notes could very well be faulty.

Anyway, gear up and enjoy!

About Shedrick

I am a professional librarian and a part-time writer that's working to do that the other way around. I currently live in North Texas in the lovely city of Denton (“The Home of Happiness“) with my lovely wife and the obligatory demon-spawn cats. When not writing, gaming, or watching cheezy kung-fu flicks, I can sometimes be found in a pub (or the American equivalent) enjoying a fine brew.
