Hi all,

I’ve started a new writing exercise of which the first installment has now been posted.  I was inspired by Mur Lafferty’s “Fingertips” series.  She takes the titles from a series of songs on a They Might Be Giants album and writes “flash fiction”, quick little stories based on those titles.  I thought it was a brilliant idea, and like any good librarian, aggressively borrowed it.

I’m taking the titles from one of my favorite albums, Queen’s “A Night at the Opera” and seeing what I can do with it.

The first attempt is posted on the “Stories” page under “A Night at the Opera” and is entitled “Death on Two Legs”.  It is a dark little story, but at least has the benefit of being short.

After posting this story, I realized that the only other story posted on that page is also inspired by a Queen song.  I wonder what that says about me…and do I want to know?
